Microsoft Launches Advanced Data Governance For Office 365

Microsoft has announced the release of Advanced Data Governance for Office 365 that will help users manage their high volume and complex corporate data with ease. The data governance dashboard will provide data analytics and enhanced tools for data retention.

The users will be able to classify, establish policies and take quick and relevant actions with the help of recommendations driven through the behavioral analysis and machine learning. It includes the following capabilities:

  • Import: Intelligently imports the required data from on-premise and third-party archives via classifications like data type, user or groups, importance or sensitivity.
  • Policies: Policy recommendations provided on the basis of machine assisted insights of the data, classifications, organization, industry and more.
  • Retention: Intelligently preserves what’s important for you by utilizing classifications like keywords, data type, age, user group, importance, and sensitivity.

The company plans to include Advanced Data Governance as a part of Office 365 and release it in 2017 Q1.

Google Ceases Android Developer Tools Support & Development In Eclipse

Google is officially getting rid of the support and development of Android Developer Tools (ADT) plugin for Eclipse IDE (integrated development environment). It plans to release version 2.2 of Android Studio which is an official IDE for Android development and wants to push all Android developers towards it.

“All of your favorite ADT tools are now part of Android Studio, including DDMS, Trace Viewer, Network Monitor, and CPU Monitor. We’ve also improved Android Studio’s accessibility, including keyboard navigation enhancements and screen reader support,” Android product manager Jamal Eason wrote in a blog post.

AWS Introduces New Amazon Linux Container Image For On-Premise Workloads

New Amazon Linux Container Image For On-Premise Workloads

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the release of Amazon Linux container image which was available for use on cloud till now. The customers can now deploy the container image of Amazon Linux operating system on their local development environment.

Other Linux distributions such as CoreOS, CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Canonical’s Ubuntu, etc, are also available for use in the on-premise data centers. Companies can access Amazon Linux from AWS’ EC2 Container Registry. “It is built from the same source code and packages as the AMI and will give you a smooth path to container adoption,” AWS chief evangelist Jeff Barr wrote in a blog post. “You can use it as-is or as the basis for your own images.”
