Gartner: CRM Emerges as a Big CIO Priority

Gartner says that CRM is high on the agenda for CIOs as well as CEOs. They also say SaaS CRM is going to grow another 16% in marketshare, from the current 32%. We expect the big winners to be Salesforce, to some extent Microsoft Dynamics CRM and some innovative ones like GetSatisfaction.
Need more proof that the CRM software market is sizzling? Gartner says that CRM skyrocketed 10 slots in its list of CIO technology priorities. Gartner released new data showing that the market enthusiasm surrounding customer relationship management (CRM) software and its burgeoning connection with social media is not unfounded. In a survey of 2,335 CIOs in 45 countries and across 37 industries, Gartner reveals that CRM made a big leap in CIO mindshare in just one year. CRM climbed to 8th place in 2012 from 18th place last year in its top IT priorities rankings for CIOs. Read Original Article…

SugarCRM held its user conference, SugarCon in San Francisco and by most measures it was a big success. The event, shoehorned into the Palace Hotel, will begin moving around next year settling in New York where it will attract a larger crowd, including many more customers and fans from Europe before possibly hopping the Atlantic the following year. Busy April Brings Opportunities

Recap of some of the interesting things that happened in April in the CRM space. Future looks hot for the innovative ones
This April was especially memorable in our industry and as the month has just passed I wanted to take a moment to discuss some of the things I witnessed. There was an unmistakable sense of renewal in CRM and in the tech sector more generally. Facebook continued to primp for its assumed to be historic IPO and bought Instagram, a company with an application for mobile devices and not much more than a website otherwise. Facebook paid a billion bucks for Instagram, no doubt a sign of the future.
