Adobe Upgrades Creative Cloud, Adds New Mobile Apps and Creative Hardware
Adobe has ambitions of establishing itself as more of a service platform today with a focus on mobile first and hence it has made the largest overhaul of Creative Cloud desktop applications to date. All 14 desktop applications in Adobe’s creative suite will get an upgrade. The company is also introducing a new Creative SDK library for mobile developers, five new mobile apps, and two pieces of hardware to use for precision graphics on iPad.
The 5 New Mobile Apps are Adobe Sketch, Adobe Line, Photoshop Mix, Lightroom for iPhone and Creative Cloud for iPad and iPhone. As for the Adobe Creative SDK, users will be able to access the library resources to build mobile apps off of elements from PSD files along with the ability to tap into shared files and image editing services in the cloud such as Content-aware Fill and Upright in Photoshop.
Adobe Creative Cloud has offerings for Enterprise, Education and Photographers
The new hardware, connected to Adobe’s mobile apps for iPad, include Adobe Ink and Adobe Slide. The key innovations in the creative cloud desktop apps are focused on making a faster and easier workflow for artists. If this were not enough, Creative Cloud now has an offering for business organizations which will integrate with other offerings such as Marketing Cloud, Acrobat and the Digital Publishing Suite.
BlackBerry announces BBM for enterprises with encryption and enhanced security
Android and iOS have made significant inroads into the stronghold of Blackberry: the enterprise area, in the past few years. However the BBM maker is refusing to go down and in that endeavor has just launched a product that is aimed at its base of government, insurance and banking customers: BBM Protected. It is the first piece of its eBBM suite. The “e,” of course, stands for enterprise, and the BBM Protected app lets BlackBerry owner’s instant-message with several layers of encryption to protect sensitive data.
BlackBerry’s customers demand heavy security and that is what BBM protected offers. Each message has its own encryption key, making it very difficult for anyone to decode an entire conversation. All BBM Protected users can exchange messages, even if they’re not on the same BlackBerry Enterprise service.
