Apple Announces iOS 11 at WWDC 2017
Apple has unveiled a new version of its mobile operating system at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). The new version brings hundreds of features and new experiences to iPhone and iPad. While iOS 11 won’t be available until September, here’s what you can expect from the final version.
- The iMessage apps and stickers will be accessible through a shortcut drawer.
- The conversations will synchronize with iCloud automatically.
- Apple Pay is now built in iMessage. So, you can easily send, receive and spend money using Apple Pay and even withdraw the money to your bank account.
- Siri will sound more natural with better inflections and can translate in Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Spanish from English.
- The camera app will support HEVC (aka h.265) to allow you to shoot better quality videos with a smaller file size.
iOS 11 has a bunch of new updates for users and developers alike. The developer preview can be downloaded from developer.apple.com and the public beta will be made available later this month.

Microsoft Rolls Out A New Version of Deep Learning Toolkit
Microsoft has updated its Artificial Intelligence (AI) framework by launching version 2.0 of Cognitive Toolkit. The open source Cognitive Toolkit 2.0 is now available under an open source license and helps developers to continue to delve into new research areas.
It features support for Keras, a user-friendly open source neural network library which the developers utilize while working on artificial intelligence and deep learning and projects. The toolkit also supports new versions of NVIDIA’s Deep Learning SDK as well as advanced graphical processing unit (GPU) architectures like NVIDIA Volta.

AWS Makes Greengrass IoT Service Generally Available
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced the availability of Greengrass, a software that enables customers to run AWS compute, messaging, data caching, and sync capabilities on connected devices. With the help of Greengrass IoT service, devices can run AWS Lambda functions to perform tasks locally, sync the device data, and communicate with other devices while leveraging AWS Cloud’s full processing, analytics, and storage power.
Over a dozen AWS partners including Canonical, Annapurna, BSquare, Digi International, Lenovo, Mongoose, Intel, Raspberry Pi, Samsung, Wistron, Technicolor, and Qualcomm Technologies are integrating AWS Greengrass IoT service into their platforms and offer devices with inbuilt AWS Greengrass capabilities.
