Microsoft Confirms Cloudyn Acquisition for $50-70M

Microsoft has confirmed that it is acquiring an Israel-based cloud monitoring and analysis firm Cloudyn. According to a Hebrew news publication, Calcalist, the deal is said to be worth between $50 million and $70 million. The terms haven’t yet been officially declared though.

Cloudyn was founded in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2012 and offers automated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions to large businesses to track, analyze and organize their cloud applications. These analytics and monitoring solutions helps in improving cloud performance and productivity as well as enabling access to real-time data across many financial and operational metrics.

“The Cloudyn solution will be incorporated into Microsoft’s product portfolio — offering customers the industry’s broadest set of multi-cloud management, security and governance solutions,” said Cloudyn CEO Sharon Wagner.

AWS Launches A New DaaS Offering

Amazon WorkSpaces runs on AWS and provides its users with a turbocharged machine that can be accessed over the internet. The DaaS solution includes virtual CPUs, a whopping 16GiB of RAM and 275GB of total storage.

Amazon Workspaces Power bundle is meant for developers, data analyst, and others who require compute- and memory heavy lifting for getting their work done. It offers a Free Tier that allows the first-time users to try the service at zero cost. The Free Tier includes 2 Standard bundle WorkSpaces for up to 40 hours of combined use per month for 2 calendar months, from the time the users create their first WorkSpace.
