The new app developed by Salesforce.com, called Social.com, is an application that allows advertisers to power ad campaigns on Facebook and Twitter.
Social.com, the new application developed by Salesforce.com, will allow the advertisers to use customer data in real time and in combination with social listening data for powering ad campaigns over the social networking sites. According to Gordon Evans, VP of Product Marketing at Salesforce.com, social advertising can expand the opportunities of gaining a larger chunk of customers along with an unparalleled opportunity for targeting.
He said, “With social media now being the No. 1 online consumer activity worldwide, brands not only have enormous global reach, but also the ability to target ads based on social profiles, likes, interests, activities and location via mobile devices.”
Evans said that “There is still a need to be able to do this efficiently and accurately, which can’t be done if we isolate social ads. They need to be connected to marketers’ CRM systems, which is where Social.com comes in.”
Salesforce.com looks at social advertising as a great opportunity for marketers. Nielsen, a global information and measurement company, expects the year 2013 to witness an increase on social advertising through nearly 64% of the advertisers.
Since more and more time is spent on social networking sites, leading marketers can effectively leverage paid social campaigns. However, marketers need scale for successfully running social ad campaigns and to make sure that social advertising is connected with listening and engagement.
Social.com also includes a social listening and publication application. Moreover, it allows marketers to build, test and launch social ad campaigns in a scalable way.
